The Phoenix Coyotes and Coyotes Charities will auction off special-edition New Year’s Coyotes jerseys for each player on the team through NHL.com.

The Coyotes are taking a page out of minor league hockey as special limited edition jerseys that are later auctioned off are extremely popular. The only difference is the minor leagues are more relaxed with allowing the teams to also wear the jerseys so they are auctioning off game-worn jerseys, whereas the Coyotes don’t have that freedom from the NHL.

Each Coyotes player will autograph a one-of-a-kind New Year’s jersey with his name and number on the back. The jerseys will then be available for bidding on NHL.com beginning at 12 noon Thursday, Dec. 31. The auction ends at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit Coyotes Charities, which is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life throughout Arizona communities by supporting non-profit organizations that promote healthcare, education, cultural arts and sports-related programs for children.
